My concept looks into my family heritage and traditions within the church. Being brought up going to church every Sunday brings everyone together as one big community. I wanted to bring in the idea of weaving as this practise brings people together as we're all interlinked.

Looking at celebrations including christenings and weddings in the Greek Orthodox church I took inspiration from the clothes and silhouettes my family members wore but also the architecture of the churches showcasing their beauty with intricate glass windows and paintings. This was my inspiration for my prints and lazer cutting samples.

I got shortlisted for this UK student design competition 2022 in collaboration with artsthread. With almost 200 entries from 16 academic institutions across the UK.
